Burton Leonard 2nd XI finally got their season off and running last saturday but were well beaten by Markington who managed to rack up 282-5 on the batsmen friendly strip at Peter Lane largely thanks to Wayne Dennis’s century. Burton Leonard’s cricketers got underway last Saturday when the 1st XI entertained Burnt Yates and won convincingly. Sadly the 2nd XI away fixture against Bilton 3rds fell foul of the weather, but two days of wind ensured the ground at Peter Lane for the 1st XI match was reasonably dry albeit a tad cold.
