Burton Leonard 2nd XI v Thornton-le-Moor

Burton Leonard 2nd XI are still searching for their first win of season after going down by 5 wickets against Thornton-le-Moor. Once again Burton paid the price for lack of penetration with the ball as Thornton cruised passed Burton's 195-8 with three overs to spare.

Burton had set a pretty competitive total with Chris Sladen top scoring with 48, with useful contributions of 26 from Andy Parker and 22 by Stuart Barker but the lack of early wickets when it came to their turn to bowl once again cost Burton the match although there was a relatively straight forward dropped catch chance by the author when the score was about 130-3 that might have made things more interesting. However it was not to be and Burton will hoping they can finally get a win under their belt when they play bottom of the table Pateley Bridge 2nds this Saturday at home weather permittiing.
