Burton Leonard 1st XI v Glasshouses

Burton make it two out of two
Burton Leonard 1st XI made it two wins out of two with an accomplished 54 run win over Glasshouses. Batting first Burton made a very competitive 221 largely thanks to a quick fire 93 from Craig Eustace who was particularly harsh on the Glasshouses opening bowler A Burton, who was despatched for 63 off his four overs. When Craig Eustace was out in the sixteenth over the score had already progressed to 110 of which seven shots had flown over the boundary from the bat of Eustace for six.

Glasshouses were always going to find that score difficult to chase down and once the prize wicket of Rob Ellis had fallen, Burton fancied their chances. It was left to Michael “the mouse” Wray to wipe up tale and claim 5-9 after 17 year old Rob Murray had bowled beautifully earlier to finish with figures of 4-31 from 12 overs.

By 7.00 p.m the game was won and Burton had taken a maximum six points to take their season tally to 11. This week they travel to Darley and will be hoping another win will keep them up near the top of the table.
